Review on MXL V63M Microphone

I ordered the MXL V63M as an addition to my already seemingly endless collection of condenser microphones. I love the way MXL 990 coats the vocals and makes them sound silky smooth ( pre mastering of course ) . The 991 is awesome for direct mic setup to hand drums , ( congas , bongos , djembe,  etc ). I was doing some vocal recording and I was not getting the sound I wanted from the 990. So I ordered the V63M it can run you anywhere from 80 to 169 (you just have to shop around)

I got it in the mail and immediately went to do some tests on it . 1 word , awesome . It sounds super crisp , even without a pop filter. The highs came out clear , and the lows sounded just right. Of course it isn’t a super high end mic , but it’s a condenser mic none the less and can definitely keep up with the boys. I definitely give this mic 5 stars for price and sound.
